Fabricated Scenes of Jubilation and Euphoria on Green Square

by Metro Gael

On the morning of August 22nd 2011, Al Jazeera aired a 'live' report from Green Square in Tripoli, which claimed to show the capture of the Libyan capital by rebel forces. Scenes of jubilation and euphoria enveloped Al Jazeera's reporter Zeina Khodr as she declared: "Libya is in the hands of the opposition."

The images were immediately reproduced throughout the global media complex, with headlines trumpeting the 'end of the Gaddafi regime' and editorials throughout the corporate media world speculating about the post-Gaddafi future of Libya.

Gaddafi's sons were said to have been arrested, and more defections were announced. The Libyan capital was, we were told, now in the hands of the rebel forces. For many, it seemed a fait accompli.

In fact, the Al Jazeera pictures from Green Square were an elaborate and criminal hoax. The report had been prefabricated in a studio in Doha Qatar. . . .

[Today, the Washington Post reported unrest in Libya which the Libyans believe is led by a Col. Khalifa Haftar based in the U.S. On May 17, 1991 the Washington Times reported that three hundred and fifty Libyans would arrive soon in the United States. . . . the Libyans who arrived in the U.S. in 1991 . . . were trained by our CIA to topple President Ghaddafi. --Enver Masud, "Libya: Who's Terrorizing Whom," The Wisdom Fund, March 26, 1996]

[Dr Franklin Lamb, director of the Americans for Middle East Peace, who has consistently put out live interviews from his hotel room where he has shared gathered intelligence and information with the YouTube community, was shot in the leg by a sniper while cycling near his hotel.

Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya, a researcher, also narrowly escaped death from a sniper targeting him as he stepped out of the hotel to place a sign saying "PRESS", and was additionally threatened by CNN journalists.

Thierry Meyssan, who runs the French VoltaireNet blog, said that from the Rixos Hotel, the order was given by so-called "journalists" from the United States to bring down Mahdi Darius Nazemroaya and Thierry Meyssan.-- "Assassination Attempts Against Independent Journalists in Libya,", August 22, 2011]

[The slaughter began. Within 11 hours, 1300 innocent civilians were killed in Tripoli, and 5000 injured, as French Foreign Legion and Al Qaeda cut their way through. All this time, the bombings continued non-stop. Three Apaches flew over the city, firing their miniguns. The gangs of Al Qaeda were burning houses, looting shops and assaulting every woman in sight. Any prominent supporter of Gaddafi was targeted and their houses attacked first. The number of gangs is still increasing right now, coming in from the sea in the small NATO crafts, and directed by the Special Forces--"NATO troops in Tripoli,", August 22, 2011]
